ROLL CALL

Another perfect job o’ work, Bill…Thank You so much! I can’t imagine anyone still able to connect with Mary…but I’ll be ever so grateful to hear from them! The part at the end…that’s the rub. Be easy with yourself, good sir…no regrets. Do not go gentle…Blessed Be, an’ very best wishes for every day; each is an incredible gift.  Warren Whittier (April 6, 2024)

On April 23, 2024, I went to Mission Bay High School and found Mary Margaret Sullivan’s senior picture in the 1957 Taroga. You are correct, Warren… Mary Margaret was a beautiful lass with a perfect Irish name.

I’ve been unable to learn anything else about Mary online, but did find a wonderful link to Bob Lambert’s pictures from the 1957 “Ditch Day,” which includes photos of our classmates at dances: Class of 57 MemoriesMission Bay High Alumnihttp://www.missionbayhighalumni.com › class-of-57-me…

Were they at our Senior Prom?

Great to hear from my dear bucs and buckettes. I do remember you all, Kathy Carpenter, Gail George, Vonnie, etc. I stopped a surfer the other day and won his heart by telling him how the fibreglass surf board got to Australia. Will re read the fine print and add more. Enjoy your coffee and wild yarning. Yes, I remember Carol and Gayle. They  had  good figures  but not as great as Rachel’s!*

I suggest that if one beechgeezer or geezette sends me their address, I will happily send you some Australian coffee. Then you and your coffee club will die happily knowing what real coffee tastes like !*

The boys of our senior all were so shy that I had to call one and ask him to be my date. Krikey, was I relieved when he said yes !*

Thanks for the surfing history.  I’ll write the pioneers names down and pass them onto our surfing community. Kids as young as 3 ride on stand up surf boards.  They need to know. I’ve put in a short video.  Maybe others will add there’s as a cultural expansion. Also, it was good of the kids to clean up our classmates Vietnam war memorial. Here’s to gold top football boots and full skirts with chinch belts.
